It broke my heart to hear of Carolyn's passing. I had the great pleasure of getting to know her from her time at Harbor Hill in Belfast, Maine. She was so full of life, loved her craft projects, surifng the net, and talking about her family. It was hard to see Carolyn leave Harbor Hill but she was excitied about the new adventure. After her departure I referred to her as my internet grandma as we enjoyed sharing our news, jokes etc. via email. It is hard to believe she is no longer with us. May her spirit live on in all the wonderful memories we have of Carloyn. To her family may heartfelt thoughts bring you comfort and loving memories bring you peace. My deepest sympathy.

My family has missed Dr. Layton immensely and now must add his dear wife to too many recent losses. Her presence was always welcome, especially to my father, George, and will be dearly missed. There are too few competent people in the world who have the rare gift of being kind, as well. We have lost one of them. Be assured of God's closeness during this heartbreaking time. (Psalm 34:18)

I don't have the words to describe how I felt when I heard your news. I will miss you. When you left Harbor Hill it was sad but we always talked via e-mail or wrote each other, you were so happy and proud of your family always ready for a joke and you sent some good ones a very special lady You will be missed.
